Snowsky FH3 Lumi (Deer)

A hybrid IEM with a distinctive character

The FIIO / Snowsky FH3 Lumi is a hybrid in-ear monitor specifically tuned for a warm, natural and relaxed presentation of vocals. Inspired by the characteristic sound of 1980s and 1990s Cantopop and Mandopop, it combines these retro influences with modern audio technology. The FH3 Lumi features a 10mm dynamic driver and two specially developed balanced armature drivers for the midrange and treble.

Natural cashmere-wood fiber driver

The 10mm dynamic driver uses a unique diaphragm made from natural cashmere and wood fibers. Thanks to the high damping properties of these materials, the midrange in particular has a warm and natural character. The ultra-fine fibers are processed using a traditional papermaking technique to create a lightweight yet rigid diaphragm, designed to reproduce vocals with richness, smoothness and detail.

The two custom balanced armature drivers handle the midrange and treble. Combined with the dynamic driver, they create a full and spacious presentation that places vocals at the center while retaining plenty of detail in the higher frequencies.

Reduced vocal sibilance

For comfortable long-term listening, FIIO has paid particular attention to the 6–8kHz range, where vocal sibilance is often most noticeable. A fourth-order filter circuit is combined with a precisely tuned notch filter to reduce harshness in this frequency range. At the same time, frequencies above 8kHz are preserved, allowing the FH3 Lumi to retain its detail and open character.

Warm retro-inspired tuning

The FH3 Lumi is not tuned solely for maximum resolution or dynamics. Instead, FIIO has aimed to recreate some of the warm and relaxed character associated with classic analog equipment and older CD and cassette players. The result is a musical tuning with full-bodied vocals and a pleasant soundstage that remains comfortable during longer listening sessions.

3D deer design and detachable cable

The FH3 Lumi also distinguishes itself from the original FH3 with its 3D embossed deer motif. The silver-colored finish gives the earphones a distinctive retro appearance that complements the concept behind this special edition.

FIIO uses standard 0.78mm 2-pin connectors, allowing the cable to be easily replaced or upgraded. A 1.2-meter 27AWG high-purity oxygen-free copper cable with a 3.5mm plug is included as standard. The FH3 Lumi has an impedance of 27 ohms, a sensitivity of 106dB/mW and a frequency response of 10Hz to 40kHz. It is also officially Hi-Res Audio certified.
