iFi Audio Aurora

The iFi Audio Aurora is a premium all-in-one wireless music system that combines high-quality audio technology with striking design. At the heart of the Aurora is iFi's PureEmotion® amplifier technology. This is a hybrid amplifier design with a class-A tube preamplifier and multiple amplifier stages. The preamplifier uses a Russian 6N3P tube that amplifies the analog signal from the DAC before further amplification takes place. The DAC section is based on a chip from the 32-bit ESS Sabre DAC family. This combination ensures a natural sound, open soundstage, and dynamic music reproduction.

For a spacious soundstage, the Aurora uses Soundspace® technology. This adjusts the output of specific drivers at certain frequencies so that the sound spreads further than the physical enclosure. This creates a wide and immersive soundstage that can fill a room with music.

The Aurora also features ART® (Auto Room Tailoring). At the touch of a button, six ultrasonic sensors measure the distance to walls and other surfaces in the room. A 32-bit ARM processor then adjusts the output of the speaker system to optimize performance for the placement in the room. These adjustments are performed entirely in the analog domain, without digital signal processing.

For powerful bass, the system is equipped with TrueBass®. Two downward-facing passive radiators provide deep and controlled bass reproduction with a frequency range down to approximately 27 Hz. The bass response can also be adjusted to personal preference in two modes.

The speaker configuration consists of four 4.5-inch full-range drivers, two 28 mm soft-dome tweeters, and two passive radiators. The system delivers a frequency range of approximately 27 Hz to 40 kHz and a maximum sound pressure level of 115 dB.

The Aurora offers extensive connectivity options. The system supports network streaming from NAS or servers and services such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, TIDAL, and Deezer. It also supports AirPlay, internet radio, and multi-room use via Wi-Fi.

Bluetooth 5.0 with a Qualcomm 5100 chipset supports virtually all modern audio codecs, including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, LDAC, HWA/LHDC, and AAC. This allows high-resolution music to be played wirelessly from smartphones, tablets, and other devices.

The Aurora also offers extensive connections for wired sources. The system features optical and coaxial S/PDIF inputs, USB and Ethernet for digital sources, an RCA and 3.5 mm analog input, and a microSD card slot for local music files.
