The S3 Balanced HiFi Streamer from Fosi Audio is a versatile network streamer that combines digital music playback, DAC functionality, and preamplification within a single compact chassis. The S3 supports popular streaming services such as TIDAL Connect and Spotify Connect, allowing music to be sent directly from compatible apps to the streamer for a seamless listening experience. Additionally, the system supports AirPlay 2, Google Cast, and DLNA, making it easy to integrate into a wide range of multi-room and wireless audio systems.
For wireless connectivity, the streamer features dual-band Wi-Fi 6 with support for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, complemented by Bluetooth 5.3 for stable and fast connections throughout the home. The device supports audio formats up to PCM 32-bit/384 kHz, focusing on lossless high-resolution audio playback.
Internally, the S3 uses an independent AK4493SEQ DAC chipset, designed for extremely accurate signal processing. With a THD+N of just 0.00018% and a signal-to-noise ratio of up to 120 dB, the streamer delivers a very clean, detailed, and lifelike audio reproduction.
The analog and digital circuits are constructed separately to minimize interference. In addition, the S3 utilizes high-quality components such as Japanese ELNA capacitors, an ultra-low-noise LDO power supply, and a differential op-amp amplifier with balanced XLR outputs. This architecture ensures a wide stereo image, improved channel separation, and refined sound reproduction.
In terms of connectivity, the S3 supports HDMI eARC, a dedicated subwoofer output, and various analog and digital connections, allowing the device to be easily integrated into both stereo and 2.1 home theater setups. Through the Fosi Audio app, users can configure the streamer, manage playback, and adjust EQ settings.
In addition, the system features smart functions such as 12V trigger synchronization, overcurrent and overvoltage protection, and a design with efficient heat dissipation through the bottom of the enclosure. Thanks to its compact size, the streamer can be easily placed within desktop and hi-fi setups without taking up much space.
