FIIO FT15

The FIIO FT15 is a high-quality open-back planar magnetic headphone that builds on the technology of the popular FT5. The newly developed 101mm planar driver combines an ultra-thin diaphragm measuring just 800 nanometers with an innovative diamond coating. This design is engineered for fast, accurate reproduction with deep, controlled bass, natural mids, and a spacious soundstage. With its North American walnut ear cups, carbon headband, and high-quality finish, the FT15 combines advanced audio technology with a comfortable design.

101-mm planar driver with diamond coating

The large planar driver has an effective diaphragm area of 6,443.5 mm², a full 35% larger than that of the FT5. At just 800 nanometers, the diaphragm is approximately 86.7% thinner than its predecessor, allowing it to respond more quickly to changes in the audio signal.

FIIO uses its own multi-layer coating technique in which the entire diaphragm is coated with a diamond coating. This increases the diaphragm’s rigidity and stability, reduces unwanted resonances, and contributes to accurate reproduction up to 40 kHz.

Patented magnetic system

The FT15 utilizes a specially developed magnetic system that distributes the magnetic field evenly across the diaphragm. This ensures precise control of the diaphragm across its entire surface, which helps minimize distortion and delivers a controlled, detailed sound reproduction.

The aluminum-silver conductors are applied to the diaphragm using a precise 28-nm manufacturing process. With an impedance of 24 ohms and a sensitivity of 95 dB/mW, the FT15 is also relatively easy to drive, even with portable audio players and compact DACs/headphone amplifiers.

Walnut Wood and Lightweight Construction

The ear cups are crafted from high-quality North American black walnut, with each pair of headphones featuring a unique wood grain pattern. The lightweight carbon headband and carefully designed construction keep the total weight to just 425 grams.

For wearing comfort, two different sets of ear pads are included: soft suede and synthetic leather. This allows the user to customize not only the comfort but also the sound character to their own preference.

High-Quality Cable and Accessories

The FT15 comes with a detachable cable made of high-purity 6N monocrystalline OCC copper. The copper conductors undergo a cryogenic treatment lasting over 100 hours at -192°C to stabilize the material structure.

The cable features a balanced 4.4mm connector. Additionally, adapters for 6.35mm and 4-pin XLR connectors are included, allowing the FT15 to be used with a wide variety of headphone amplifiers. A high-quality Yaoli carrying case completes the package.
