iFi Audio NEO iDSD

The iFi Audio NEO iDSD is a high-quality DSD DAC with built-in preamplifier functionality and a high-quality headphone amplifier. This NEO iDSD fills the gap between the iFi Audio ZEN DAC and the high-quality iFi Audio Pro iDSD. Like the ZEN DAC and the Pro iDSD, this NEO iDSD is intended for home use. The NEO iDSD features a balanced XLR and single-ended RCA line output and can therefore be used as a premium DAC in a Hi-Fi set or as a high-quality preamplifier with built-in DAC functionality that allows you to drive a set of active speakers, for example.

Simply connect your digital music sources via the coaxial or optical S/PDIF connection, or use the maximum digital resolution via the USB audio input. Stream your music wirelessly in high sound quality via Bluetooth. Premium Head-Fi

The NEO iDSD has a powerful amplifier circuit. The output power is 1000mW at 32 Ohms, which allows it to handle difficult-to-drive headphones as well as ultra-sensitive in-ear monitors. The NEO iDSD is equipped with a balanced 4.4mm Pentaconn and a single-ended 6.3mm headphone connection. Place the NEO iDSD vertically with the included aluminum base so that it can also serve as a functional headphone stand. The display automatically recognizes how the housing is positioned and rotates the handy information screen with volume and digital resolution 90 degrees.

Well-implemented DAC

iFi Audio uses Burr Brown's DAC chipset in this NEO iDSD, selected for its sound and True Native architecture. This bit-perfect DAC supports PCM resolutions up to 32-bit/768kHz, DSD up to DSD512, and single- and double-speed DXD. Thanks to the powerful new 16-core XMOS chip, MQA is supported on all inputs and even up to 384kHz via USB. Thanks to the next-level digital engine with advanced jitter correction, iFi's Global Master Timing, its Femto precision clock, intelligent buffer memory, and the Gibbs Transient Optimized digital filter, no detail in the music is lost.

Advanced analog technology

To make the most of the digital resolution, the analog section has also been developed with the utmost care. iFi uses a dual-mono design with optimal channel separation and a highly precise electronic volume control with an R-2R resistor network. This maximizes resolution at any volume and gives the analog circuit optimal channel equality. Total harmonic distortion is less than 0.0015% and the signal-to-noise ratio is more than 120dB. This is quite remarkable, especially in this price range.
