FIIO M25 R2R

The FIIO M25 R2R is a high-quality portable music player featuring an R2R PRO DAC developed entirely by FIIO. Instead of a conventional DAC chip, this model uses an advanced network of precision resistors for digital-to-analog conversion. This gives the M25 R2R its own distinctive sound character, emphasizing a natural, warm, and smooth musical reproduction. With a fully differential audio architecture, balanced output power of up to 1700 mW per channel, and a powerful Android environment, it combines classic R2R technology with modern functionality.

Advanced 24+5-bit R2R PRO DAC

The M25 R2R features a 24+5-bit segmented R2R PRO DAC developed by FIIO, constructed from 316 precision thin-film resistors. The five most significant bits are processed via a separate thermometer-encoded structure comprising 31 resistors. This design reduces conversion errors and distortion that can occur in traditional R2R designs.

The R2R PRO architecture is designed to deliver a natural sound with smooth transitions, rich timbres, and a compelling presentation of vocals and acoustic instruments. In addition, two different sound profiles are available to customize the sound character to your preference.

Powerful, fully differential amplification

The M25 R2R utilizes a high-quality audio architecture with four separate signal paths, from digital-to-analog conversion to the headphone amplifier. With up to 1,700 mW per channel, the player has sufficient power for a wide range of headphones, including demanding planar magnetic models.

A powerful FPGA and specially developed femtosecond clock oscillators ensure precise timing and minimize jitter during digital signal processing.

Fast Android player with extensive storage

The Qualcomm QCS6490 processor, featuring Snapdragon 778G architecture, is paired with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The 5.5-inch touchscreen, with a resolution of 1080 × 2160 pixels, offers intuitive control over local music files, streaming services, and Android apps.

The M25 R2R also offers up to 14.5 hours of battery life via the 3.5mm output and 12.5 hours via the balanced 4.4mm output, allowing it to be used on the go even during longer listening sessions.

Extensive sound settings

With the built-in 31-band parametric equalizer and AUTO EQ, the frequency response can be precisely tuned to the headphones being used. The settings can be applied system-wide, so that music from streaming apps also benefits from the selected equalizer settings.

In addition, the M25 R2R features an XMOS XU316 USB interface, allowing the player to also function as an external USB DAC. As a result, the FIIO M25 R2R offers a unique combination of advanced R2R technology, powerful headphone amplification, and modern streaming functionality.
