FIIO FX17

For exceptional sound quality, the FX17 features a hybrid driver design: one dynamic driver, four balanced armature drivers and eight electrostatic drivers per side. A precisely tuned five-way crossover optimally distributes energy, resulting in a more spacious soundstage and natural sound.

Electrostatic drivers offer excellent high-frequency extension up to 50 kHz and an airy soundstage, but have low sensitivity (99 dB/mW vs. 110 dB/mW for other drivers). To compensate, the FX17 uses eight electrostatic units to improve the audibility of frequencies above 6 kHz.

The FIIO FX17 includes two composite Knowles balanced armature units for midrange and high frequencies. Each unit is split-one part for midrange and the other for mid-high frequencies-which provides a seamless transition to the electrostatic drivers. A specially developed “Midrange Enhanced Balanced Armature Unit,” designed in collaboration with Knowles, has acoustic vents for richer vocals, making voices sound lifelike.

The dynamic driver has a lithium-magnesium alloy diaphragm, known for its rigidity, low density (1.6 g/cm³) and high internal damping. This minimizes resonance and distortion, keeping it below 0.2% for exceptionally pure sound.

With a minimalist, curved design, the FX17's titanium housing is precision-milled and hand-polished. A vapor deposition process increases durability and gives it a striking, glossy finish.

The FX17 cable combines gold, silver and copper-each forged at more than 1000°C and refined into monocrystals to reduce transmission loss and improve sound quality.

Included are three interchangeable audio plugs: 3.5mm single-ended, 4.4mm balanced and a Type-C connector with built-in DSP decoder. The Type-C plug supports 32Bit/384kHz PCM, balanced output and 8-band PEQ tuning via the FIIO Control app or web interface, allowing precise EQ adjustment.

Each FX17 comes with a uniquely numbered nameplate, celebrating FIIO's 18 years of acoustic excellence.
